Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on July 5 1985. She was born in Redding California. Megan began playing soccer as an infant and developed her skill in her teens. Her fraternal twin sister, Megan Rapinoe, also attended University of Portland. Megan Rapinoe became a soccer star for the Portland University, being one of the collegiate women's soccer's most prolific players. However, a knee injury she was forced to sit out a portion of her sophomore and junior seasons. In her senior year, she started every game returning to her sport full time. In the 2021 Olympics at Tokyo Japan delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 virus.
